KRISHNA SMILES
Shri Krishna is the popular Deity in Hindu religion. He Is loved throughout India and also in rest of world where Hindus are present.

Krishna is said to be avatar of Lord Vishnu
In order to go in detail of Krishna’s work the back ground of his life must be seen.
Philosophically speaking God is everywhere: He is Present wherever and whatever is perceived and even beyond that also. But since we are in framework of Maya He takes Avatar to liberate us from Maya. He assumes glorious forms and performs Divine activities. Even though there are many Avatars Krishna is recognized by saints to be Sampoorna (complete) Avatara.

Further note on Gita
Gita is all about transformation of mind in distress. The distress of individual is caused by lack of understanding of the world and his role play in the universe. Once understood he will transform completely and discharge his duties efficiently.
God has planted inner resources and leanings. One should live in accordance with inner nature and should not evade it. This was what Arjuna was about to do. But Krishna saved him.
This in brief is the background in which Krishna appears
Krishna appeals to millions of devotees in India and abroad. His charm captivated many in his time. Krishna is inseparable from sweetness. One cannot imagine krishna without smile. Even though he is deadly while destroying enemies he retains his composure and charm.
This was evident on the eve of Mahabharata war. Just when the war is about to commence suddenly arjuna is seized with internal conflict. He realizes that he has to fight his acharyas and cousin brothers. He goes to the extent of saying that he will not fight and he shows in difference towards the result. He talks about massacare and destruction of existing social order.
AT FIRST KRISHNA CHIDES HIM AS UNWORTHY ARYAN(PERSON OF NOBLE ACT)
AND CAJOLES HIM FOR FIGHT.BUT ARJUNA CONTINUES HIS LAMENTING.
IT IS THEN THAT KRISHNA DECIDES TO TEACH HIM GREAT ECRET CALLED “BHAGVAT GITA”.VEDVYAS RECORDS FOLLOWING SLOKA
SLOKA
tam-uvācha hṛiṣhīkeśhaḥ prahasanniva bhārata
senayorubhayor-madhye viṣhīdantam-idaṁ vachaḥ
MEANING
tam—to him; uvācha—said; hṛiṣhīkeśhaḥ—Shree Krishna, Master of mind and senses; prahasan—smilingly; iva—as if; bhārata—Dhritarashtra, descendant of Bharat; senayoḥ—of the armies; ubhayoḥ—of both; madhye—in the midst of; viṣhīdantam—to the grief-stricken; idam—this; vachaḥ—words Dhritarashtra, thereafter, in the midst of both the armies, Shree Krishna smilingly spoke the following words to the grief-stricken Arjun.

The Following Reasons are Attributable to the Smile
1.Arjuna has forgotten that he is only a tool in the hands of Master –KRISHNA and he cannot and should not do anything inconsistent with his Divine wishes. The wish of Krishna is that he should participate in the war.
2.Krihna never wants blind followers. Given below is the dialogue Verse 72 of chapter 18
Has this been heard, O Pritha’s son,
By you with a one-pointed mind?
Moreover, has the delusion
Of your ignorance been destroyed? (72)
Arjuna said:
Yea, destroyed is my delusion,
And I have gained my memory
Through Your grace, and my doubts are gone.
I am firm; I will do Your word. (73)
Every time Arjuna asks a doubt Krishna seems to be too happy to give answers. This is also a cause for smile.
3)Krishna knows that warrior blood is running in Arjuna’s veins. This itself would have been sufficient to set aside all objections and he would be engaged in battle inspite of himself.
As it turned out Arjuna got himself engaged in battle with clear mind.
Some More Thought on Gita
We find at the end chapter1 that Arjuna was in desperate dejected and depressive mood. He event thought of abandoning war field and ending his life.
Arjuna is not an individual. He represents entire mankind full of internal conflicts and desperation Every person man or woman sees solution to his mental tortures. When they pour their grievances Lord smiles. It is a smile of assurance that He will relieve their anxieties But one should follow his directions. We are not fortunate enough life Arjuna to have His vision .But still we can follow injunctions in Gita and other scriptures to have life of fulfillment.
This is meaning of His smile. Let us also report our grievances in heartfelt manner to Lord so that He will surely guide.
